Readers' Advisory

Did you just finish a great book and now you want to read something similar?

Do you need help finding a specific book?

Do you want to read new books by your favourite author?

Do you want to discover new reading genres?

If you answered “YES” to any of these questions, then the library can help!

There are several ways to access the library's Reader's Advisory service:

  1. Stop by the Information Desk at the main branch for reading suggestions tailored to your unique literary tastes and needs.
  2. Send an email by filling out the Contact Us form and a librarian will respond.
  3. You can check out our book displays, which include award winners, staff picks, and local titles.
  4. Grab one of our read-alike bookmarks. These contain lists of authors who have similar writing styles or lists of books that have similar plots, styles, or genres.
  5. Check out the eBooks and Literature section of our Digital Library for literary databases, such as NoveList, that will help you search for new books.
